Mike Boerma on Holly Chapple:
“I had met Holly last year at the AIFD Symposium in Las Vegas, where we were both part of a team of 5 assisting Gregor Lersch for his demonstration on the main stage.
As a team we spent a lot of time together, it actually clicked right away. It was a particularly wonderful experience, I look back on it with many fond memories.
Holly has a particularly warm and enthusiastic personality. You can tell right away that she has a strong passion for the flower industry and the people that go with it.
I went there thinking I would be assisting Gregor, which I knew would be a wonderful experience, but I didn’t expect to come back with so many wonderful new friendships.
At the end of our stay, Holly let us know that she would be going to Fleuramour, Europe’s finest flower arranging event, just a few hours drive from us(We go here every year as a day trip with our students and anyone else who wants to come along).
Of course my first reaction was that I wanted to help, a good excuse to get together again!
So no sooner said than done. This time we worked with her team from Chapel Designers, a group of enthusiastic and knowledgeable bridal florists (Including Susan McLeary, who will be teaching a two-day Master Class on April 2), Francoise Weeks and Suzie Kostick from Smithers Oasis America.
My Partner Anjelica also went along and I think the chemistry we had with this group of people and the experiences we had together are some more things we can look back on fondly.
If there is anything I would wish for our students and the florists of Holland at this time, it would be the experience of Holly Chapple’s inspiring classes. I think she is the ‘Breath of fresh air’ we have been waiting for here in Holland for some time.”
